Mother DeOla Wells Johnson is the daughter of the late Bishop Wyoming and Mary E. Wells. Her father was a part of the original General Board of the Church of God in Christ. It was her parents love and nurturing that inspired her and her siblings to reach beyond their grasp. Her motivation, training and development came from a home filled with love and Jesus.
She has served the body of Christ in many areas. She served as District Missionary under Bishop P.A. Brooks, in Detroit, MI and as State Mother under Bishop J. Howard Sherman in North Carolina. Again, God has elevated her to serve; she now serves as the Jurisdictional Supervisor of Women for the Tennessee Fourth Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction under Bishop Jerry L. Maynard. As a National evangelist in the Church of God in Christ, her obedience to the voice of God has placed her in worldwide arenas where her servitude has significantly impacted the body of Christ.
She presently serves in the position of Pastoral Assistant to the pastor of Temple of Deliverance Church of God in Christ, Superintendent Milton R. Hawkins. This position was originally pronounced upon her by the late Bishop G.E. Patterson. She states that her life changed and ascended to a higher level of service when she answered Bishop Patterson’s call. In this position, she ministers, teaches bible study and leads the noonday prayer. In October 2009, she led a group of seven women to Washington, DC and they had the pleasure of visiting and praying inside of the Whitehouse.
She is the proud mother of three wonderful children and three grandchildren.
Her spiritual goals have always included motivating, mentoring and maximizing spiritual growth in women of all cultures and backgrounds. With the desire to help all women reach their full spiritual potential, God led her to form Women Seeking Spiritual Enrichment (WSSE). The formation of this organization, has allowed her to enrich and enhance the lives of women mentally, spiritually, and culturally.
She understands this to be an exciting and rich season for the women of God. It is her desire to ensure that the body of Christ is equipped with women who are prepared to gracefully yet boldly impact the Kingdom of God.
If you ask her about her accomplishments, achievements and accolades, she simply states; “I am a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
